Friends and Family,
I want to take a minute to invite you, your family and friends to a very special afternoon of survival and hope. On Sunday April 19th 2009 there is going to be a very special Yom Hashoa event like none you have ever experienced before. The Jewish recovery houses, The embassy of the Czech Republic and the friends of the Czech Republic will be sponsoring this celebration at the Moses Montefiore synagogue in Pikesville, Maryland to celebrate and honor holocaust survivors that are living in our community.
This event is a benefit to bring awareness and support to the Jewish recovery houses in Baltimore. The house of hope and Tova House are 2 recovery houses in our community where Jewish men and women who are in recovery from addiction and alcoholism are in a fight for their lives and a kind of survival that many of us will never know. We are putting this event on with the hope that no Jew...even one...is ever without the hope that they too can survive, we have lost countless Jewish men, women and children to the horrors of the holocaust and to the insidious decease of addiction.
We cannot afford and don't want to loose any more, not even one!! With this event we will hear first hand accounts from people that not only lived through these horrors but also have survived and are willing to come share with us hope, survival, inspiration and bear witness that anyone of us can survive. Please come join us at this event, donations are to benefit these houses of hope" and the men and women who are residents at these homes. The event is from 2 PM to 5 P.M. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there; please do not hesitate to call me for more details. I have tickets; they are 25 dollars for adults, 15 dollars for seniors and students. Holocaust survivors are admitted at no charge.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Jeff Millman
